Jury pay & compensation
Daily jury pay
$40/day for each day in attendance after the second day of selection, and $40/day for each day sworn and serving (NRS § 6.150)
Transportation & parking
Yes — 36.5¢ per mile, but only if the juror's home is 30 or more miles from the trial (NRS § 6.150). Not the IRS rate.
Overnight / special circumstances
Yes — if home is 65+ miles from the trial and service lasts more than one day, a lodging allowance at the state-employee rate is paid for each day the juror does not return home.
Employer requirements
Employer required to pay
No — employers are not required to pay wages, but may not require the juror to use sick leave or vacation time (NRS § 6.190)
Job protection law
Yes — NRS § 6.190 bars terminating or threatening to terminate employment because of jury duty, with a civil action for unlawful termination
Exemptions
Excusals for undue hardship; people 70 or older or with certain medical conditions may be excused; no broad occupational exemptions
